GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION
A bearing is a device in which the journal or surface turns or moves upon loose hardened steel balls that roll easily in a cage. In ball bearing stages, the friction of sliding motion used in dovetail slides is replaced by a lower-friction rolling motion. A linear of spherical balls is held between Vgrooves or rails with a cage that prevents adjacent balls from touching one another. To minimize wobble, the rails are forcefully preloaded to apply pressure uniformly along the bearing. Because there is a very small area of contact between the ball and rail, small microscopic bumps influence stage motion. To eliminate play and wobble, all small irregularities must be effectively smoothed out by applying preload. Bearings require lubrication to prevent seizing and to reduce friction and thereby minimizing metal-to-metal contact. The balls make point contact with the rails, limiting their load-bearing capacity. For high loads, cross-roller bearings are recommended
IMPORTANT POINTS IN BEARING INSTALLATION
Bearings take on the most important and critic function in the machine parts.Bearings are the high technological and quality parts that we must be careful before and during installation to make them lives longer.
a) Bearings are covered with special protector oil, while installation it's not necessary
to bathe the oil. This oil will adaptate with the oil that you will use.
b) Bearing must be kept in the original package and must be removed from its package just before the installation. Make sure that the place is clean and don't touch the bearing with an uncovered hand because bearings can be affected from perspiration.
c) Processing tolerance of the bearing's shaft and hole must be checked.
d) After installation, running of the bearing must be checked.
STORAGE
The rules while storing the bearings were written below;
a) Bearings must be kept in a clean and dry place. Store's temperature must be at 25șC, sometimes it can be about 30șC. Heat deference between night and day never pass 8șC and humidity rate must be less than. %65.If these conditions are guaranteed, water steam intensify prevents the humidity formation.
b) Do not let the bearings be subjected to sunlight directly.
c) Bearings must be kept out from the chemical corrosives. (Acids, alkali solutions, salts, aerosols, gases)
d) Bearings must be kept in their packages.
e) Bearings, which have large diameters, must be stored vertically.
